The abandoned town of Maldenar is now occupied by the knights of Aderon. In perpetual shade ever since the dark clouds rolled over the desert, a feeling of dread has swept over the people that now hold the town. The tremors have stopped, the wind is still, and the desert creatures have vanished. There is no sign of the relic that Aderon was originally hunting, and that end has been determined lost. The adventurers carrying the relic have probably left the desert by now.

The knights now only wait for the darkness to pass before heading home. It is a long journey, and in light of the strange events taking place now, it would seem that the best plan is to wait and prepare for whatever comes next.

To prepare, the knights have fortified the town and are now holding it as a fortress. It would not be easy to enter without first speaking to one of the guards at the perimeter. If you're in the desert at this time, and if Aderon is not your enemy, then it would probably be advised that you take refuge here for now.

[Cspace]

"What is that?" inquired a knight, looking toward the east.

A guard standing near the knight, leaning on his halberd, carefully scans the horizon. "I don't see anything."

The knight looks more carefully and shakes his head. "I thought I saw a creature of some sort, but I can't see it anymore. Eh, it was probably the weather."

Without turning to face the knight, the guard replies, "Probably. I wonder if these clouds reach to Aderon, and if we should be heading back instead of defending this old town."

Looking toward the sky, the knight says, "The journey will take days, and we should be prepared for whatever comes next. We would be better off here than caught in the middle of the desert. Besides, Aderon is well-defended even without us."

The guard nods in agreement.

[Neraphym]

Neraphym approaches the guards. The wind picks up and almost blows off his cloak, but Neraphym holds on tight. A close call, he thinks. These guards cannot know he is an Ekuwyn, especially in these times.

Neraphym: "Hail! I am Neraphym, a grove elf from the south. I seek refuge here for the night."

[Bashae]

Reikin Bluefire arrives at the fortress, dusting his coat off. He might be seen as mildly insane for wearing such thick garments, but due to the Arcane nature of it, the temperature does not phase him. In fact, his body felt a nice cool sensation at around 21 degrees Celcius, exactly how he wants to feel at all times.

He quickly changes the form of his gun into a generic looking sword; despite the fact he had no idea how to use it, his Human appearance and gun might be mistaken as a Corrorian.

Seeing a stranger already greeting the guard, he decides to hold his position until the guard reacts for better or worse.

[Nate]

Maklier Gurran goes and sits under a tree nearby and dumps out a bag of scrap of various metals and electronics then starts observing what he has before starting to turn them into a small floating plasma turret.

Suddenly Maklier's Wolf Sabre starts quietly growling at something in the distance that appears to be a couple of people then Maklier looks up at his wolf and shouts "Be quiet!, I'm trying to concetrate here" then Sabre sort of snorts and goes to lay back down by Maklier.

A Corrorian!

This was not a good sign. He had been specifically told not to raise any suspicion that an Aphorite might be scouting Earthia. While Reikin did look Human, there was the off chance that the man may have a scanner of sorts to determine that he was not a Human. That was something he could not afford. He began preparing a rift in his mind in case he needed to jump right away.

[Nate]

As Maklier was finishing up on the programming in his mobile turret he noticed something appear from the corner of his eye and thought "What the hell was that?". Maklier got up and beckoned to his Wolf "Let's go check it out Sabre!" and they started to head off to the thing that appeared curiously. Then Maklier's Computer mentioned that it could be extremely dangerous and that Maklier should proceed with caution.

Crap!

It seemed that his tactics were flawed as he saw the Corrorian come towards him.

He must have had a sensor that could detect the Arcane even before it actually exists...

Reikin calms down and lets go of his grip on the Storm, and soon the rift is gone from his mind.

[Nate]

"Computer: Maklier, there's person that seems to have some sort of magical power, he may be dangerous, proceed with caution if you confront him."

"Maklier: Thanks computer I will do so." Maklier starts to attempt to stealthily get closer to the person in the distance to possibly find out who or what he is.

[Bashae]

This was a dangerous situation. The Corrorian was now getting even closer and he now had no quick means to escape with no more grasp on the Storm. All he could do was wait and see what would happen...

[Nate]

"Computer: Maklier, this person seems to be armed with a dangerous looking weapon, you should tell your Wolf to get ready if it gets hostile."

"Maklier: Alright computer" Maklier then whispers in the Wolf's ear and it starts slightly growling as Maklier goes to confront the person.

[Bashae]

Reikin smiles at the Corrorian.

"Hello there! Lovely day isn't it?"

Reikin had an urge to twiddle with his pseudo-sword but touches the scar on his left eye instead.

[Nate]

Maklier smiles back.

"Yes it is quite a nice day" Maklier said with a hint of sarcasm.

Maklier then curiously stares at the weapon in amazement of the advanced technology of it.

[Bashae]

Reikin saw the Corrorian look curiously at his sword.

"This? It's nothing special. Just a run-of-the-mill sword."

[Nate]

"Well it looks fancy atleast then, so tell me what have you come here to do?"
