Windows 7

Since I've never used Vista, because none of my computers were destroyed in it's brief existence, I really don't know if it's as crap as everyone says, or why Windows is abandoning the whole concept so quickly (if they are abandoning the concept).
And really I haven't seen much news of Windows 7. So I'm neutral.

Plus from what my friend tells me, Windows 7 has a similar design to Vista so their not really abandoning it..

Vista is horrible for laptops.
I </3 it.
Although it would be nice for my desktop... since it supports DX10 and all.
Edit: I have a bootleg copy of windows 7 that was given to me, and I have roughly 200GB of non-partitioned space. But I really, really cba to install it.

Really? Vista likes to disable the wifi, freeze, and generally act like windows 95 on my laptop. I assumed it's because the laptop isn't always shut down right(It can't... vista rarely lets it)

I've seen it's mostly -like- vista, just with improvements and most of the {expletive hax0rd by Cspace} things they did removed (Or fixed).
I can see why they're making windows 7 an entirely new OS, rather than just patching Vista... All the negative publicity towards Vista... XD

DX10? Eh. It isn't that much better then DX9 right now.
Jeff.
EDIT:
The name "Vista", although completely innocent, has been dragged through mud.
So they're trying seperate this as a new OS - which from a PR point I understand, I just don't know if it'll work.

I downloaded the Windows 7 beta last week and installed it as a virtual machine. I can say it's less of a memory hog than Vista, and the changes to the taskbar are quite welcome.
Other than interface changes, however, it won't actually be all that different from Vista. New name, new look, more drivers readily available. Works for me. I'll probably buy it a couple months after it becomes available.

Well, the security features are crap and annoying, don't work propperly and they stop you from actually being able to work. Pain in the {expletive antidisestablishmentarianized by Cspace} for people like me.

Doesn't do anything, but I turned them off anyways.

Nope, fine with me

I find Vista easy to use, never gives me any problems. I dunno if I have special Vista using powers or you guys seem to have annoyed Microsoft
