Arcanist's Arcanum
Gravity Wave - A powerful gravity wave can throw enemies off-balance.
Singularity - A singularity, or black hole, is an exotic object with infinite density. Its gravitational pull is very strong, and when an enemy is too close, he or she cannot escape. While this causes a great amount of damage due to tidal forces, it won't necessarily kill anyone who is sucked in. What does happen, however, is that a victim will tunnel through the cosmos and appear at a random location... Far away from the battle.
Nova - A sudden burst of focused solar energy burns the arcanist's enemies.
Cosmic Ray Storm - By focusing the cosmic rays from distant stars, an arcanist can cause powerful radiation damage for his or her enemies.
Cosmic Ray Beam - The same effect as a cosmic ray storm, but instead focused on one target.
Gamma Burst - An arcanist can conjure a small gamma ray burst that produces a small but very powerful explosion.
Antigravity - An arcanist can counter the local effects of gravity, effectively levitating objects and people off the ground.
Comet Strike - By altering the trajectory of a comet, an arcanist can invoke a collision that causes severe damage to enemies. Just note that it requires a little time for the comet to actually strike the target.
Asteroid Strike - Another version of Comet Strike where an asteroid is used instead of a comet. Asteroids tend to break up easily in the atmosphere, causing the attack to result in multiple random strikes.
Meteor Storm - An arcanist can use a gravity wave to disrupt many small asteroids, sending them to rain on the battle. This can potentially harm allies, so don't use it without some sort of protection.
Modulation - A skilled arcanist can produce an anomaly in the Storm, temporarily increasing one's arcane power.
Focus Arcana - During a battle between Avendil, the arcane power of the Storm will usually collect in the vicinity. This energy tends to remain unused until it dissipates into the cosmos, but a skilled arcanist can focus it and effectively produce affinity from nothing.
Time Shift - When a battle is going badly for an arcanist, sometimes he or she will "rewind" the battle and bring it back to an earlier state.
Project Attack - An arcanist can send attacks through time, effectively producing their effects before or after they were actually performed.
Invoke Paradox - Considered careless by most arcanists is the use of paradoxes as attacks. The disorienting and potentially damaging effects are seemingly random when one creates a logical error in the timeline. It's usually best not to invoke a paradox, but an arcanist is capable of doing it.
Fortify Timeline - With some focus, an arcanist can prevent time travel and paradoxes in the immediate vicinity. Unless one uses this, a battle between two arcanists can be considered chaotic if time is manipulated.
Repair Timeline - When a paradox has been invoked, an arcanist can repair it and set things right again. |
