Being a convoker is not easy, but you'll never be without allies. You specialize in the summoning of avatars and arcane beasts. These allies are versatile, capable of assisting in a variety of ways, and usually intelligent. While you can't dominate their will, you can often reason with them to assist with your challenges. You can also choose to summon the same individuals more than once, and not just others of the same type like with most other summoning professions. This means that you can get to know your arcane allies, and they can get to know you, and therefore the reasoning will become easier over time.

It is worth noting that your summoned allies are just avatars in this realm, and if an avatar is destroyed, the actual being will remain unharmed (though often disoriented for a while). Regardless, try to treat them as if they are not avatars. It makes them feel better about helping you, which is important when fighting with them as allies.

 

Convoke Allies - A convoker's specialty... Being able to call for the aid of arcane beasts and avatars. A powerful convoker can even call for more than one, up to the number currently allowed under the influence of the Storm. Just be sure that no conflict exists between those you convoke, or they could refuse to help you, or even begin to fight each other.

Planar Ward - A convoker can use his or her affinity as a ward to protect convoked allies. This requires a lot of concentration.

Avatar's Favor - If an avatar falls in battle, it is destroyed and the actual being is left disoriented and often unwilling to send another for some time. If the need is great, however, a convoker can request that another avatar is sent right away. This is not to be taken lightly.

 

The following are some avatars that you can convoke:

  • Grove Warden - A warden from an enchanted wood.
  • Edastian Myrmidon - A powerful warrior from a faraway land.
  • Kavagian Arcanist - A student of a lost arcanum.
  • Lunar Sentinel - A mysterious protector of Lunara.
  • Ancient Guardian - A legendary hero from another time.

The following are some beasts that you can convoke:

  • Mindrake - A smaller variation of a drake. This is often the first creature that a convoker learns to summon.
  • Drake - A small creature with arcane power. They may look harmless, but they should not be underestimated.
  • Naradactyl - A flying creature with a powerful bite.
  • Basilisk - A scaled creature that is capable of taking heavy punishment. It is said that a basilisk's scales are made of stone.
  • Vadinsel - A great lion that will protect one who it considers a master. This is particularly difficult to summon for the first time.
  • Gryphon - A flying beast with a lion's body and an eagle's head. These are known to be great mounts, but they can be even better at a convoker's side.
  • Dulnaar - A great wolf that can be very protective for one who it trusts. Just be sure to return the favor.
  • Chimaera - These are great beasts with wings that are similar in power to dragons. Like dragons, chimaeras have a reputation for turning on the convoker.
  • Dragon - A powerful beast capable of great destruction. Dragons are known to turn against untrained convokers, so summon them with great care.
