Not sure if re-instating Special Ops is really the answer to anything. From what I've heard from a few "sources" (Yes, you're not the only ones to receive secret intel bluetongue.gif ) it was pretty inactive and never really much used. And people are always going to mis-trust 'secret' groups, it's part of human nature. Towards the later stages of Gunblade it started more fights than it stopped, for that very reason...

There weren't less fights then because Spec Ops were around, it was just how the forums were progressing at the time. Trying to keep things from members isn't really the way to go about getting back to where we were.

Plus even if it was restarted and once again became inactive, since people would expect it to be used, it'd be causing problems without actually contributing to anything. From my not-quite-unique perspective during that period of being an outsider to those kind of groups yet at the same time taking a fair role in trying to break up the fights, I can tell you that secret groups really aren't the answer. And no, the reason I have always disagreed with them and do so now is not because I wasn't a part of them, it's just what I think they would be likely to cause. grnwink.gif

Cspace reached the same conclusion by himself a while ago, I believe that's why he shut down Gunblade and Special Ops officially at that time.

And since that's far too serious...

Thats funny bluetongue.gif Nobody ever knew what Special Ops did and yes, conflicts were greatly minimized at that time. The forum was inactive because it was a decoy, since people could obviously get in on their own if you knew how.

I really dont see the point of the special op's. I mean why do you need a secret group of people to break up arguments? We allready have great non secret mediators.
I dont see why arguments need to be spied on, when we can just resolve it by talking to the arguees.

It seems to me that its just a load of members who are desperate to be in gunblade. But then theres not really any argument against having 'secret mediators' it just seems a bit silly to me.

The arguees dont want to talk to moderatos about it. Trust me. I've tried to end conflicts many times before and it has only worked once or twice.

However at that point they're not going to listen to anybody that wants to tell them to stop, secret or not.

And yeah, generally those that want to be part of 'secret' organisations are actually those least suitable to solving things out in the open, which is an increasingly important part.

I have to say i agree speaking from experience (of starting arguments sad.gif ) , i agree and i think the knowledge other people are spying on you and/or saying things behind your back is more likly to agrivate them. Even when rat told me durring 1 or my rampages that the mods were talking about me in the moderator forums, it made me angry and i felt the need to lash out, and since the special ops arn't exactly secret then people will probobly know if they are being monitored. Rather than calm them down it may make them......more......angrier. All im saying is that it doesn't seem like a good idea.
