It was me huh! Well if it isn't dawn then there are 2 other answers.

1: Sunlight
2: Dusk


I will go with sunlight.

I'd really like an explaination to this one...

Hmmph. I give up. *googles* Wha'? I don't understand that at all. Please explain, whoever gets it first. Or has someone already done so??

It does work out. And Snowy, no explanation, no confirmation.

I doubt snowy ever had an explanation.

Sunlight. Sunlight is intangible, so nobody would ever get it off the door, no matter how much the hack(a-mored)ed at it.

Since FO gave the explanation he gets THREE points (unanswered for 6 days).

This is the hundreth riddle!

Riddle #100
It was once upon a time,
and nursery rhymes.
When genii's stood all in a row.
When Little Jack Horner,
Sat in his corner,
And all the King's men said "Aye! Aye!" today.
So Heigh-Diddle-diddle,
Eat crumpets and play the fiddle,
While a cow makes curry and whey.
And we'll all laugh,
To see such fun,
And maybe we'll come again - to play.

A tall tale

I'd say children or childhood, because childhood was when you were told nursery rhymes and stories, and it's the time of laughing and playing.

If not, then I agree with snowy in that it's stories/nursery rhymes, because all parts of this, or most parts, are made up of parts of rhymes or are speaking of them.

Those are all Mother Goose tales! So, mother goose would be my guess.

It is a tolling of the night.
When all is still.
And the wind whispers near the mill.
Twas struck twelve times!
And his voice rang out!
And then, it was stilled.

A bell?
A bell in a clock doesn't strike until on the hour, and at midnight, it strikes 12 times, then gets still until one am.

Who's childhood?
Oh wait, pen's answer.

And midnight, if Pen's not correct. Midnight's when the bells ring 12 times, and all is still cause everyone's sleeping.
