Not quite. There's something about giving you an M16 that isn't in the video games...Talent for shooting, and recoil...

I can guarentee you that after you fire your first shot, you'll be on your duff. bluetongue.gif I was the first time I shot a gun...but then again, it was a 12 gauge shotgun. *rubs shoulder* owch...

And yeah, I was being a little overly zealous about that, Elven. I didn't actually mock him.

Y'know, there's one thing that none of you have taken into consideration. At least you have the choice to not vote. I don't know how many countries do or don't have the choice, but you folks do.

Countries that enforce compulsary voting don't allow for people who have no clue to simply not vote. They have to vote or go to jail. I admit, there is always (at least in Australia) the donkey vote, which, in my opinion, makes a mockery of compulsary voting anyway. But still, at least you don't have the entire country voting with most having no clue.

Just be thankful you actually have the choice, hmm? TheSmile.gif

(Rayquaza plushie? WTF? It doesn't look anything like the other plushies!)

Through our bleeding we are one.

It is where you vote for the Australian Donkey Party, made up of donkeys and only donkeys.

For the other countries: http://www.australia...ompulsory.shtml

And I don't think compulsory voting is bad, it seems to run the country perfectly well.
I have trademarked the symbol: '™'. You fail at display names.

Compulsory voting is silly. You can just deface the paper or something to null your vote can't you?

donkey party? crazy auzzies.

I meant that if you give me a gun that ive never held/seen/used/whatever ill be able to use it.

I dont get to shoot much but I am an ok shot. And recoil off of most rifles isnt that bad... at least not for me since the recoil cant move me much (ive never used a 12 gauge though sad.gif )

Ugh, silly Darkie, annoys me when people get this wrong.

There is no compulsory voting in Australia. It is compulsory to turn up to the voting booths and get your name ticked off. Donkey votes are discouraged, if you actually have made a moral choice not to vote then you can avoid doing so, or hand them in a blank or defaced paper. This system isn't about forcing people to vote, it's about taking laziness out of the equation. If people have to turn up on voting day anyway, they're more likely to look into the issues slightly and make an informed decision. Otherwise you have a situation like the US where only half the population votes. (can't be bothered looking up the proper figures, but I seem to remember that was about right)

Our system of voting is somewhat more complicated to the regular 'first past the post' system seen in countries such as the US. It is designed not so much to put the favourites in power as it is to keep the least favourites out. I'm a little hazy on the precise method at the moment as it's after midnight, but basically it's a system of preferences where it usually comes down to who people had put 2nd, 3rd, etc. on their list as much as it does who they put first. So someone who has a bunch of fanatics voting for him but is disliked by everybody else wouldn't really have much of a chance at making it in. If anybody is interested in getting a slightly less vague (and more accurate) idea of how it works, I suspect you could google or wiki for it.

Yeah. I understand what you mean...You'll know how to chamber it (Maybe...Just have to find the cocking device. bluetongue.gif A little different for every gun.), hold it, turn off the safety, and shoot it.

I'll admit, Shotguns blow more recoil than most high powered rifles do...Mostly because the bore is typically bigger (For the spread of shot) and there are no ported muzzle breaks. Even so, have you shot a .308? Nasty rifles...I used one to hunt for an Elk once...I only saw one Elk, on the very hairy edge of my limit, and I missed him with the only shot I took, even so, these guns are probably even more high-velocity than the M4 Assault Rifle, having no muzzle break, and being closed bolt action.

Meh. Now I'm over analyzing everything...I'm gonna stop talking.
