Still, you haven't given a good reason as to why they'd make it an MMORPG; if it isn't because it's what every one else does succesfully, then why?

well, look at that other matrix game... whats it called...

"enter the matrix"

they attempted to continue the storyline with that with an action/shooter game. It sucked. no 2 ways around it. the only way they can get what people want is by making an MMO, and besides, the matrix is so huge it deserves nothing less. AND they had been planning the MMO since they started the trilogy, so they hadn't just decided "hey, we are doing pretty well, lets make a cash cow MMO!". not sure if that answered your question... i dont think it has has it....

it needs to be an MMO because its a cold war era, thousends of people are being freed from the matrix BY the matrix, how else can you reproduce that than having the players as the free people, and they need to interact with each other otherwise it gets boring. like enter the matrix did. IF they made it like the .hack games, then that would also get dull because everytime they made a new game to continue the story people would be VERY tired of forking out £30 (or whatever) to continue the storyline, and people would stop buying them sooner or later.

Well lets look at it this way traver...lots of people pay for runescape to play on the members server, and runescape doesn't have nearly as good graphics as the matrix online. Also, like bmatt said, thousands of players are able to act as the freed people, the agents, and the outcasts...sounds like a pretty good game to me. You would have to play a game like it to understand it...otherwise, you will keep your opinion and we wont get anywhere. And bmatt, I thought SWG was pretty good...why didn't you like it?

SWG was too easy to unlock the things you REALLY should have to work for, IE; meeting movie characters, a few quests and thats it, you get to meet them. Also, not enough Balance. everyone wants to be a jedi which leaves imperial pretty much empty. i would choose imperial, but thats only because i like the huge Cliche of there cause...

In MxO you only get to play as the freed people, but you can work for Zion, The Outcasts OR The Machines. You REALLY have to work hard to earn any respect, and only Key missions give you enough of it to make a difference, and when you hop sides you loose all of it, and need to start again. you get to kill a coupla agents if you get good enough though biglaugh.gif but they still are unspeakably hard... 1zhelp.gif...

Wow, when I played SWG on the tempest server, imperials were the largest group, and most were formed into one clan called Imperial Scolum. The rival rebel clan was VS, but IS had tons of bases while VS had only minefields...and you can be imperial and jedi...just a dark jedi. I wanted them to come out with a Sith thing, dont know if they have yet. That would be pretty cool... biglaugh.gif

I also agree with you about things being easy on SWG...and I didn't like how you didn't grow levels...it was like when you earned a top skill, if someone else earned that top skill you were tied in it. There were no level bases... nonono2.gif

there were siths, atleast there were sith holocrons. The matirx online is wierd. you BUY abilities. if you have enough xp, i think, you have to "buy" the "code" its wierd.

you buy, trade, or hack the ability codes. you get them at the basic level. as you use them more you get better at them, kinda like the XP system on runescape. , and as you grow in levels you get to equip more and more of them, and dont expect to be able to do ALL the stuff the movie guys can until at least level 70 i think it was, and the Neo type stuff at like level 4000, heheh. Max level is 100 by the way, or at least i think it is.

And I was in it! then i left....and was called a traitor for talkin' junk to apra (who was the hottest girl on swg btw, no offense to my EX wife on that game) apra then carried around stuff just to kill me if she saw me AND another girl who i loved like a sister got pissed at me..still want to investigate that.....so basicly thats howmy swg life was destroyred. man that was off topic!

Uh...ok... eek7.gif

Anyways...I think its a good system if you can hack codes, buy and sell them...stuff like that. And hopefully they will take off the max level thing...it would get pretty old if you could grow no more levels after that. I hate limits...bleh. And I think I read somewhere that you CAN get atleast near the power level of neo, though I dont think you will be able to fly...atleast not at the very beginning of the game. But more updates will keep pouring out, which will make it a much better game.
