darkness! (lack of light... not darkness)

It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,... you cant see in darkness,u cant feel darkness
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt..... u cant hear darkness or smell it

It lies behind stars and under hills,...... altho technically there is no "behind on a star i get its point..... space is dark, also it is obviously dark under a hill bluetongue.gif "

And empty holes it fills.... still that good ol' darkness bluetongue.gif

It comes first and follows after, .... ex. b4 a star.... darkness, during a star light, after... BOOM!!!! no star... darkness

Ends life, kills laughter. ... the dark ain;t funny..... im afraid of it ShiftyEyes_anim.gif *runs away*

I remember this one from The Hobbit. bluetongue.gif

It's an egg. The egg is the box in this case... it holds something, but has no hinges, key or lid. And, inside of it is the golden yolk.

Alive without breath,
As cold as death;
Never thirsty, ever drinking,
All in mail never clinking.

A fish. TheSmile.gif Again, thank you literary awesomeness of self...

A fish doesn't breathe - it does whatever a fish does with gills. Obviously, it's cold, and cold-blooded, being underwater and all. A fish can't be thirsty - it lives in water! And in mail never clinking... its scales.

Alive without breath,
As cold as death;
Never thirsty, ever drinking,
All in mail never clinking.

Birds, beast,trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down.

The answer is... time. Over the years, time will be the killer of all living things. Over time, iron rusts, steel chips, hard stones are weathered by the elements. It kills people, even kings, it can destroy towns, and even weather the high mountains down.

Your heart. You feel it beating in your chest, but we don't exactly have X-ray vision.

not true, you can see a heart if there is a dead body. the real answer is love.
you feel love, but never see it. love is not a noun, therefore can not be seen. you can see two people in love, but not love itself.
This was totally out-dated.

I think?
Yeah.

That could be a lot of things, an emotion, some would even say reality. Make it more specific. grnwink.gif
I have trademarked the symbol: '™'. You fail at display names.

The answer is your heart. Hyperfried is correct.

Pendragon205: I'd like you see you look at your OWN heart... bluetongue.gif

Darkness: Religion cannot be taken into account as it will not work as a universal answer. In other words, not everyone will accept that God exists or the Holy Spirit.

Nuu: Emotions like love also does not work as the wording of the sentence makes 'feel' mean touching physical, concrete objects. Unless you can touch feelings which I doubt. You can feel your heart beat if you place your hand over your chest; a CONCRETE, PHYSICAL feeling. Reality also does not work as reality CAN be seen... Although for those people who do say the answer is reality, they're either disturbed or extremely depressed (No offense).

Nuu and Darkness: Even if your answers were correct, I would not accept it as you did not explain the answer like Hyperfried and Pendragon205 did.

Riddle #27
You must keep it after giving it.
