Okay, what if you had a small monorail carriage with magnets that are like on hinges (well that is is the same sort of movement), and a magnetic strip inside a monorail, if the magnets in the carriage were on an angle, would the carriage be propelled forward? Is that possibe?
I have trademarked the symbol: '™'. You fail at display names.

Oh damn! I wish I had been born like 100 years earlier to make lots of cash from that idea.

I read in a book that some Partical Accelerators use the same technology.
What i understood is, (say for this train, as an example), The train carriage carries positive, and the track carries a negative charge.
To make the train move, The magnets on the track under the train, goes positive. As they are same charge, The train is repelled, moving forward (also being attracted to the negative charge ahead). Then the next part of the track changes to positive, repelling it further. etc.
The changing of the charges would have to be increadibly fast, and the magnets would have to be pretty powerful to be able to push the weight of the train...
^^Anywayz, thats a really, really, really simplified version, i guess... i dont even know if it works like that, don't take my word for it.
