hmm... i'm not sure....
i'd say the sun
Dawns away,-no need to explain
The day's turned grey,-it got cloudy
And I must travel far away.-sun must set
But I'll be back,-it wil rise again
And then we'll track,-explained next
The light of yet another day.-use the sun to tell the time
This was totally out-dated.
Now it's updated.
I think?
Yeah.

....
Nice.

May that last line of the crown riddle burn in hell! bluetongue.gif

I'd say the moon, actually.

Dawns away, - Dawn is a long way away when the moon is up.
The day's turned grey, - The sun has fallen.
And I must travel far away. - Because the sun is going to rise.
But I'll be back, - implying the moon will be back next dusk
And then we'll track, - "Track - A mark or succession of marks left by something that has passed." If there was no night there would be no days to track.
The light of yet another day. - Is the subject of the above line, saying that it is days that the moon is tracking.

I have trademarked the symbol: '™'. You fail at display names.

that wouldn't be grey, that would be more black, don't you think?

Perhaps.

Or maybe even the morning star (Venus)?

Dawns away, - Dawn is up and away when Venus is high.
The day's turned grey, - The sky is lightening with the coming of the sun.
And I must travel far away. - Venus sets after dawn.
But I'll be back, - In the evening.
And then we'll track, - as in follow
The light of yet another day. - the daytime is what dusk (and Venus) follows.

Now that works perfectly.

Well Nuu, if you think about it, the moon and the stars reflect light from the sun, so the result is the same in the end: the sun. Pendragon is correct.

Riddle #69
Deep, dark, underground,
That is the place where I'll be found.
Yet brought into the light of day,
I sprinkle sunlight every-which-a-way.
Though dulled with oil I will be found,
I am remarkably well and throughly sound.
Cut me quick and it will be seen,
That I instantly have a marvelous sheen.

the answer is DIAMOND

Deep, dark, underground,
That is the place where I'll be found.

diamonds are found under the earth, often much deeper.

Yet brought into the light of day,
I sprinkle sunlight every-which-a-way.

diamonds are known to be very shiny in the sun's rays.

Though dulled with oil I will be found,
I am remarkably well and throughly sound.

diamonds are known to be pretty darn tough to break, however, they dull once smeared with oil.

Cut me quick and it will be seen,
That I instantly have a marvelous sheen.

Diamonds can be cut with intense heat, and aftera diamond has been cut into shape, its surface is like glass, in which is shines much brighter in the sun
The pants are optional here sir.....

Quartz.

Deep, dark, underground,
That is the place where I'll be found. -Minerals, gems, rocks all can be underground

Yet brought into the light of day,
I sprinkle sunlight every-which-a-way. -When quartz is held up to sunlight, the fragmented sides make it seem as though it sparkles, depending on the type of quartz it is.

Though dulled with oil I will be found, - The outer coating of quartz is actually hardened chemicals coming from the gems surroundings

I am remarkably well and throughly sound. - Quartz, though not as thick as diamond, is still a strong mineral

Cut me quick and it will be seen,
That I instantly have a marvelous sheen. - Quartz needs to be cut to actually see the gem. Diamonds are not cut until they are pressurized, and that is only to make them appear more beatiful.

The answer could be any gem. However, Krako answered first, so he gets the point.

Err.. Those long metal things... TONGS! That's what their called. Hmm.. How did I get the answer? I was using them in the kitchen right after I saw this riddle bluetongue.gif Ohhh! You mean what do the things in the riddle mean relating to the answer! Ok bluetongue.gif

Well... They're all longish and stuff... And on mine at least, the end of it them are all like crooked and stuff and made into a shap more easy to grab things with. And then the head is like the top and stuff, or the handle, and tongs don't have any eyes bluetongue.gif

Why do I have a feeling that you have either heard that before or googled it?

it would be more sense to refer to the BEADY LONG LEGS from the pikmin series

they have long legs, they also have crooked thighs, a huge circular head, but no eyes, even thoiugh it can see for some reason or other.

course, in real life, you could call these DADDY LONG LEGS. a type of bug.

And can be loudly, and distinctly heard?
Will drive away friend, and foe alike.
And is enough to make a stolid man's face alight?

A fart/toot/rip/SBD/or any of these.

A fart makes a loud noise without any words, it makes everyone run away from the smell, but all the guys can't help laughing. bluetongue.gif
