I'm doing this whole thing in code, because otherwise it'll turn some stuff into emoticons :-\
Anyway, :] smileys now officially own :) smileys. Here's some proof:
- :] smileys look good in all fonts, :) smileys fail at times new roman, which is the most common font ever.
- :] smileys are faster to type and cause less strain on your hands.
To make a :) smiley, you can do one of two things: Either A. Hold right shift with your pinky, and then hit the : and ) keys with any of your other three fingers, or B. Hold left shift and press the : and ) keys with any fingers on your right hand.
To make a :] smiley, you can do one of two things: Either A. Hold right shift with your right pinky, press the : key, release shift, and hit ] with any of your available fingers, or B. Hold left shift and do the same thing.
Making :) smileys with right shift puts strain on your hands (unless you have really big hands), because hitting the ) with your right pinky on shift and your right _____finger just off of : makes your hand bend a bit. You may not notice it when you type really fast, but if you do it slowly a few times you'll see.
Making :) smileys with left shift takes more time then making :] smileys, because for :] smileys you can release shift a key earlier, allowing you to move your left hand to where it should be to continue typing oh so slightly faster.
- :] and :[ smileys look cooler. Plus combining them with > to make >:] or >:] is better than making >:( or >:).
- All the cool kids are doing it.
