I understand why it does what it does, what I don't understand is why someone would want this serious disadvantage. I doubt it is even possible to advance to level 15 without equipment (unless they had around 30 or more DKs to make up for it). Basically, I'm screwed.

Thankfully, I had enough gems left over to switch class. I'm still very upset about the 25 gems I lost forging the perfect weapon with 36 attack.

Erm, nvm... just got 10 more gems and made another weapon. 43 attack! w00t!

It can be really cheap sometimes... right now I have to deal with the cost of forging weapons. My last weapon took 40 gems.

Yeah, I'm not going to be able to keep this forging weapons/armour thing up much longer. I wish we could have mounts other than horses and a chimera, like on the classic server. There they have gryphon, ettiles, and other lesser ones too.

Yeah, we had more mounts on our old server as well, and I definitely plan to add more to our current one. Just need a little time to work on it, my real life schedule has been really busy lately.

Go slumming, heal often. Build up enough exp. It takes a long time to get your first DK, but after that, the game goes much faster.

What difference will the best armour and weapons make? And should I get go to the quarry and the lumber yard often, or are they too risky? And should I run away from special events, or should I take the risk?

Random events can either be awesome, or kill you. I take the risk. If you die from random events, you rarely lose exp. It'll just set you back a lot. Don't do the ferryman or eclipse events. More often than not, they hurt you. As for the quarry and lumber yards, I never really did those for exp. Stick to slumming.
