A Grand Plan

After reading the book The Tipping Point, I had a massive brainwave. I need your help in a couple areas.....
1) I tried to split a tennis ball in half with a kitchen knife. It was uneven, and pretty hard to do. Would using a different type of knife be better, or is there another way, which is still cost-effective?
2) A tennis ball is glued together with some pretty strong stuff- how can you separate it? There are three parts: A felt layer, an outer rubber core, and an inner rubber core. I want to try to get them apart.
3) The rubber cores are really hard to pierce- good thing for tennis players, bad for my idea. It may be that the cores are hard to pierce, but it might be the glue in the way. Would a sharper knife help, or is it the glue?
This probably seems weird to you, but could be VERY big for me. Oh dude. Another huge wave. Ciao.

I'll help you if you explain your idea. Why do I have the feeling you arn't just talking about tennis balls, and are actually talking about something just a tad bigger?

I have trademarked the symbol: 'â„¢'. You fail at display names.

I may not be right, but if the knife you used had a smooth edge rather than a serrated edge, you might of had trouble cutting the tennis ball. Since the tennis ball is hollow, what I would do is take a long serrated edge knife that has teeth on it and slowly say my way through the tennis ball until I reach the other edge. Otherwise if the same amount of pressure you applied, say as taking a butchers knife and trying to chop it in half with one fell swoop, your more likely goping to get uneven sides. Although with a serrated knife your most likely going to have to adjust the blade and straighten it out to try and get an even tennis ball. That's my jist of it. (If that's how you spell jist or just, meaning my opinion on something.)

Ok.
Elvenblader: The knife definitely had a serrated edge. And the tennis ball I was cutting up wasn't a brand new one, it had been beaten up over and over. I need to be able to do this on a mass scale without getting tired. I'll check out the exactoknife idea.
Nuu: I don't want to say it yet, in case it doesn't work out. But in fact, the whole idea is based an the tennis ball. I have another idea, which may make it easier, but it would implement a different material.... The whole thing is to make a profit, based on the ideas of The Tipping Point. The tennis ball idea is going to be my product.
Jake: Wasn't aware of that. I'll get some {expletive hax0rd by Cspace}ty ones, and try it out.

Find something to dissolve the glue. Not sure, but I thing glue is an alkaline (base). Like dissolves like, so soak it in gasoline or something. If that doesn't work, it's prolly acidic, in which case you ought to use lemons.

Erm, isnt it normally the other way around?
If its basic, you use acidic (lemons), and if its acidic you use basic?
Sounds like you're up to no good...

Empty sig is empty.

I think I've figured out a better way. All I'll have to do is split one in half very precisely, and then I can use a much simpler method to reproduce the product multiple times. Actually, because of the outer surface, this probably won't work as well- I'll have to find a different mold.
I'm considering using tennis balls, more room, but then I'll probably have to use the second method. This would work much better, considering the number of tennis balls I have.
Sorry if I seem like I'm talking to myself, but this could be big.
Ciao.
