Didnt the Phalanx formation orginate from sparta in Ancient Greece? Ancient Rome had the Legions.

I bet you looked that up. No, I didn't know that.
Although the Romans still fought in phalanxes sometimes too. A legion was a group, a phalanx was a formation.

What you're thinking of a Legionaires (I think i spelt that right). They were a type of roman troop but i can't remember too many of the specifics. I used to know heaps more but all that booze and study made me forget
