I saw something on the Colbert Report about a senator sponsoring legislation that would give teachers guns in order to stop school shootings. There was another school superintendant that believed we should train our students to cover their heads with textbooks to stop the bullets.

Agreed.
What's even creepier is what the children would probably grow up to be if that happened.

Alternately you could just not give kids weapons?

I have trademarked the symbol: '™'. You fail at display names.

The DS Garden Festival Minigame - Link , whether you play DStorm or not.
The Most Mysterious SSSS - Link For people who don't care about...things.
Like LEGO? Play Blockland!

Well Ive actually never heard of School Shootings in Australia but i maybe wrong but i have heard of teachers barricading themselves in thier staffroom so the students couldnt get to them with crowbars.
xmadole: at my school we dont try to kill the teachers there has been threats but no attempts. what my school does is make the teachers cry! which is fun considering 90% of teachers at my school log onto online dating sites. so we have fun during IT classes with thier usernames and passwords XD

Yeah, blunt weapons are not newsworthy. Bring a gun and everyone and their mothers want to get the first news story.
/**remembers some stories from middle and high school**
//**a lot of instances, but only one was televised**
