Along with the recent release of Superman Returns superheroes such as the Fantastic Four, Spiderman, and possibly Iron Man are becoming more familiar on the big screen. But I ask, is it too much? How many superheroes are needed to govern New York? >__> The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is coming out in June, Spiderman 3 is coming out in May, and I heard from the grapevine that Iron Man is expected to be released in 08'. But honestly, the whole reason superheroes are appealing is because they are unique. But when is there going to be so many superheroes that the power to fly, light yourself on fire, or achieve Mach 3 on your own becomes an expectation?

I'm still waiting for a Flash movie, Wonder Woman, and one for Captain Planet. There will never be too many superheros. Eventually we'll even be able to make a justice league movie! bluetongue.gif

That was some of the concern with "City of Heroes" mmo. Too many superheroes. But when you brought RP into it, it improved it some, because people could actually -BE- the superheroes. And not just be pre-set superheroes like Superman, or Batman.

I'm Batman.

But you could create your own, make your own story.

At least move heroes nowadays to different cities. NY has them all. Give Florida one. Louisiana. Texas. KANSAS. Kansas would be fun to do.
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be "The One".

Well, Batman's in Gotham, and Superman's in Metropolis... so, not New York! (Not NYC, at least.)

I just like to think of Superheroes as Extraordinary. I would hate for them to become a part of average fiction, which they might already be, and lose the extra. Superheroes shouldn't be ordinary. I read a comic once, no use in saying graphic novel XD, that had The Shocker and Hydro from the Spiderman Comics in the real world. They worked for an industry that employed villains. They had ties, and they all just went about their business hunky dory. It shouldn't be like that.

Just shows how the word "Hero" has been desensitized.

Being a Hero shouldn't be a job. It shouldn't be expected of you.

I've heard some rumours that they plan to make a Bicycle Repair Man epic which will be finished sometime in 2011. They say it will go for about 43 hours, taking third place behind The Longest Most Meaningless Movie In the World, coming in a two, and The Cure for Insomnia, the longest movie in the world.

Just imagine that, 43 hours of intense bicycle repairing, I hope they do get it finished.

And I really want to see 'The Cure for Insomnia', but I don't have insomnia, so it might give me insomnia =/

It is not clear whether or not the movie has been shown since then. Considering that a DVD can only hold up to five hours of video at mild quality, The Cure for Insomnia would fill around 18 discs.

Therefore I imagine it would be rather hard to obtain. bluetongue.gif
