I suppose it sounds racist, but I don't think it is. I'm part Native American, and I can say I'm not offended by it. We do have reddish skin, as blacks have dark skin and orientals kind of have a yellowish tint to their skin. It's not racist if it's a genetic quality. The thing is, why would a professional sports team be named after a racial slur? Can you imagine taking the field of glory on a team called the n-word?
