I know that I keep posting these, but it's rather important that we find ourselves. bluetongue.gif

Keeping in mind that SeeD is our guild, not our overall community, what is your view of where we could go? What would be the ideal guild? Remember that this is your guild, and often the only thing standing between us and a good idea is just that we have to do it. Let no boundaries exist, and just explain your vision for the perfect multi-game guild.

More events in ALL the games.

It may look silly at first but post even the smallest get togethers on the forums, and take screenshots too. New members constantly check this site out and probably leave b/c we don't have too many events. If these newbies come here and see a get together in an hour they might join in... Instead of just making 1 post and leaving.

It isn't us event hosters that are the problem, it is the rest of ya. I've hosted, and I've seen plenty of other people host, events which no one came to, or even posted in the topic.

If older members who don't play RS anymore, showed up for just one events, then I expect that a lot more people shall start taking more interest in us.

RS is dead.

I'm with snowy, sadly. - .-

It's inactive because no one's working together, which can very easily be temporary. I don't mean to be blunt, but we're digging our own grave with all the defeatist comments going around. All the tools are being given to the members to get the faction moving! Events have been hosted, more are being planned, Charlie is trying to organize the guild, and we get a lot of traffic from Runescape sites. To go along with this, many of us actively play the game! bluetongue.gif

But when events are hosted, few come. When activity is mentioned, at least a few "dead" comments appear. When someone tries to make goals for the faction, "impossible" is the answer. When recruiting is brought up, "UFF" is cited. When an event thread is posted, "lack of recruiting" is said to prevent its success. When the RS Faction is brought up, "it needs to be more active" is the common reply... Either that or "we never have events". eek13.gif

The pessimism is what's holding the RS Faction back, not our capability. The pessimism discourages activity, it discourages events, and it discourages any new members from joining. We have more than enough members in the game to "revive" the apparently "dead" faction, and we are making attempts to actually organize the faction to do this. As long as everyone resists these attempts, however, it's going to stay the same. If that's what we want, then we can keep going... indifferent.gif

But if we actually want the RS Faction to get going again, then let's do something about it. It's easier than many think, if only they would look at what we have going for us and the pointlessness of what's holding us back. grnwacko.gif

**************************************************************

I'm speaking to the RS Faction in this reply, not just those in this thread. No harm intended, this thread is about what's wrong with SeeD, but it's about that so we can fix it. So let's fix it. If anyone wants the RS Faction to succeed, then come down to its forum and leave the pessimism at the door. bluetongue.gif

I think everyone grew up. I stopped playing games period around fall of last year. I've got other interests now.

Wow, that is probably the best explanation that I've been searching for in my brain. It just hasn't come out until now bluetongue.gif . Unfortunately, most people have indeed grown up and put their time and money elsewhere. I don't play games much anymore because of eye problems, but I still don't have a burning desire to play like I used to. I do still like to play, but I just can't most of the time.

If you guys really want to get out to a large audience and fast, you could try myspace marketing. Get a myspace friend adder ($30-40), and you'll be sending out 300 friend requests a day. You can send these people comments with the bot so that all their friends see your comments. Lets say half the people accept your request- you'll have nearly 5000 "friends" in a month. You can target specific people whom you are more likely to want to play games. If just 1% of these people sign up, you'll have 50 new forum members. And if a few of their friends sign up from seeing your comment, you can have even more forum members.

That's an interesting idea. bluetongue.gif

We'd need to get our direction straightened out, but as long as the messages are descriptive and well-targetted it wouldn't hurt as some may think at first. It would be visibility and activity that come from it if the promotion is successful, and those are both aspects that have long been neglected here.

I'm not sure about using a bot, but I'll look into something along these lines.
