DSL isn't an ISP, it's a service offerred by some ISPs. For example I have DSL, but my ISP is SBC.

Which is exactly why I refuse to use cable -- you share bandwidth with your neighbors. If they don't have cable internet, well, great. But if they do and they start using it as much as you, well, your 5 Mbps connection just turned into 2.5 Mbps.

Incidentally, SBC is now SBC-Yahoo! and sucks even more than it did before. Though they did raise our speed to 1.5 Mbps (ADSL).

I've got ADSL, the ISP is... uhh... Ozmail or something now, I think.

Changed a short while ago, used to have a considerably faster cable connection, but this is cheaper and a bit less limiting in what you can do with it.
