Anais Nin once said, "What I cannot love, I overlook. Is that real friendship?" What answer would you give to her?
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be "The One".
Born to bear and read to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see.

If what one overlooks is a fault or something in a person, but one still loves the -person-, then yes, that could be real friendship. But if the quote is referring to overlooking a person themself, then... no.
I believe friendship requires not "overlooking" a friend.

In friendship you don't overlook some fault of a person, you just tolerate it.

It is possible to overlook it. Tolerating and overlooking -can- be one and the same.
