knowledge itself is not finite; the only cap we have on the level of scientific knowledge (and other kinds of knowledge as well, such as understanding of the human nature) is that of time. we have a time limit before mankind destroys itself either directly through wars or indirectly through spoiling the environment in which we live. if we somehow manage to avoid all of that, there is the physically inevitable heat death of the universe - but if humans do survive that long, i am confident that by that time they would be able to easily sidestep such minor inconveniences.
but i am also confident that mankind will not survive that long.
