why do they HAVE to exist? maybe space was made to shut us up about somethings and focus on somthin' else.

There is a HUGE chance that SOMEWHERE out in the EXTREMELY GARGANTUAL space there will be some form of life.

As to your question of why they have to exist, I can only say "why not?".

I just belive that if aliens existed with todays technology, we would have a diffinitive sighting. all we've got is old black and white photo's and movies....HOME movies.

Even with our "high tech" technology, we don't know of any planets outside our own solar system, we might not even know about all the planets in our system (planet X).

So no, we would not have a definitive sighting.
