Well, there haven't been any events for a long time now, so I think we should start using this new post-money system to help it out. Rewards/prizes for events were always a hard decision for events, but now maybe we can use gil/whateverit'scalled to award winners in events.

Just so that they aren't given out randomly/frequently, maybe we can have admins only approve the event for awarding money (the admin would set the amounts rewarded or approve suggested ones).

I like the idea, that way people get something, but admins have to agree to it. Well admins would have to, if you mean manually increasing, but actually any member could send gil to any other member at any time [for events or otherwise]. I'll move the topic to suggestions, since it's suppose to go there, but I like the idea. thumb.gif

Good idea. I assume that there will be new items implemented too, so we could give a certain item as a reward for a contest also. TheSmile.gif

Er...I am already planning to do that. I'll be awarding x gil to the first person to get 10 points in my trivia.

What you guys are doing is already implemented, and that's giving our own gil to people for winning certain things. What I'm suggesting is admins actually changing gil count for winners in contests. That way there'll be more events since the hosts don't have to use their own gil for the prize.

And perhaps take the idea of item giveaways one step further. In the past a few 'medals' or titles have been awarded for various events. Why not have special one-time items you can only get by participating in or winning a special event?

Hey, come to think of it we could actually make those medals now with this new shop. bigcheek.gif Probably should make some new ones though.

I'm undecided as to whether we should be awarding SeeD Shop medals for things that have already happened, in the same way that posts from before the update don't give gil.

And I think it's best to leave the dragon slayer, demon hunter, etc. medals alone. Considering we're an inter-game clan they're a little bit outdated anyway, and it would be fairly difficult to work out who had earned one and who hadn't.

Still, new medals are a good idea, and for the annual events that have traditionally been awarded medals we can have shop medals for future events.

What do turkies eat? I gotta tempt Star in here. ShiftyEyes_anim.gif

I agree that we'd leave the RS medals behind since we've moved on to more games now. Starting off with forum-related medals would probably be best if we worked this out. Things like trivia competitions, signature contests, blog contests, etc.

Nice idea! How about a new promotion, 500 Gillyweed for each event you start!

I'm sure that'll bring in activity!
And now we have the quote of the day, from greenl2l: PLONGED!!!

500 is too excessive I think, but a smaller incentive might work. After all, in the past emblems were offered for running events, so it wouldn't be too different to that.
