This conversation over Xfire was started by discussing energy usage in New Zealand and the United States, but as I researched the energy information, I found some interesting information about NZ bluetongue.gif . There is proof that Jonny is a Brit now!
A must read! bluetongue.gif

Jgjtan: damn... now it's out =(
Jgjtan: well NZ does still recognize Britain but we've split ties with them =P
Nighthawk551: hehe =P
Jgjtan: but that doesn't mean my accent is British <_<
Nighthawk551: wanker =P
Jgjtan: =P
Nighthawk551: lol i have to sig this
Jgjtan: aww crud!!
Jgjtan: NOOO
Nighthawk551: =D
Jgjtan: meanie =P
Nighthawk551: too late bucko =P
Nighthawk551: admittance to being british...
Nighthawk551: lol
Jgjtan: crud
Jgjtan: well really we're not British at all =P
Jgjtan: we just recognize the queen =P
Jgjtan: ... and we have a Queen's Representative...
Jgjtan: but THAT doesn't mean I'm British =P
Nighthawk551: lol!
Nighthawk551: you are such a british colony...you have a governor sent by the queen!
Nighthawk551: Governor General Dame Silvia CARTWRIGHT
Jgjtan: shhh!!!
Nighthawk551: XD
Jgjtan: That's the queen's rep... darn you!
Nighthawk551: lag description:
Blue with the flag of the UK in the upper hoist-side quadrant with four red five-pointed stars edged in white centered in the outer half of the flag
Nighthawk551: UK!!!
Jgjtan: crap!
Jgjtan: shhh
Nighthawk551: more and more evidence...
Jgjtan: just because we have the Union Jack on our flag doesn't mean we're British =P
Jgjtan: it just means we... were part of the Commonwealth =P
Jgjtan: are* I really should say
Nighthawk551: =P
Nighthawk551: "an agrarian economy dependent on concessionary British market
Nighthawk551: dependent on the brits!
Jgjtan: lolz
Jgjtan: that's a lie =P
Jgjtan: NZ is independant =O
Nighthawk551: hee hee
Nighthawk551: they remain below the level of the four largest EU economies, and there is some government concern that New Zealand is not closing the gap.
Jgjtan: =P
Nighthawk551: eventually you'll have to depend on those brits again...and they'll take you under their wing as a colony again!
Nighthawk551: =P
Jgjtan: eeep!
Jgjtan: never! =O
Jgjtan: aww man you're uncovering everything =(
Jgjtan: this conversation should never have started =P
Nighthawk551: i'm getting deeper into it now =P
Jgjtan: eeep
Nighthawk551: "agricultural products: wool"
Nighthawk551: sheep!!!
Jgjtan: lol =P
Jgjtan: "Full independence was granted by the United Kingdom Parliament </wiki/United_Kingdom_Parliament> with the Statute of Westminster </wiki/Statute_of_Westminster_1931> in 1931 </wiki/1931>; it was taken up upon the Statute's adoption by the New Zealand Parliament in 1947. "
Jgjtan: eep
Jgjtan: lol evil copy + paste
Nighthawk551: most of the evidence still points to NZ being a colony...i think that's just a formaility =P
Nighthawk551: since you belong to the queen!
Jgjtan: shh!!
Jgjtan: we're actually an independant nation which recognizes the queen =P
Nighthawk551: hmm...you're worming your way out of it eh? =P
Jgjtan: teehee I'm good at that

Lol, you mean you didn't know they were still part of the Commonwealth?

NZ is in the same situation politically as Australia, we've got a Governor General and such too. However while they do have to sign everything that goes through parliament, they don't have a lot of real power and are mostly figureheads.

It's funny how whenever you see the word without the accent mark, it looks like "touch" bluetongue.gif .
