Ok, I have the definitive post on Icarus Zone (trust me, most non-icarus freaks will agree with me).

It was started because of the awsomeness of cspacezone and its joining with seeD.
It's creators saw how great seeD was and wanted that for themselves, they couldn't be mods or anything here so they made their own. They copied the opinions, posts and even topics of cspacezone/seeD and its members. It was created because people wanted curvedspace for themselves and were not willing to do what it took HERE to get it. They made Icarus zone, a clearly plagurized forum and even told one of their members not to advertise here because of conflict.
it is clear that icarus, Dr. King and Hasonish realize what they have done, now action should be taken. Many thanks to Bball for taking it. I belive the site should be taken off line and never created or brought up again..

I called Invision and spoke with a rep and explained the situation. She said to send in an email query on the issue with evidence of the copied posts and that they should either contact the admin of the site to remove those posts or shut down the board. I didn't report them for copying our icons or forum names since they are used widely. However, I did report them for plagiarizing our posts and calling these posts their own.

Icarus, I was wondering, since I understand why cspacezone's members are getting a bit mad about plagarism. You have copied a lot from here to there, but I'm sure if you added credit to where it's needed, you wouldn't hear the plagarism complaints you are getting now.

Maybe you should add a pinned topic in a noticeable area and credit cspacezone on everything you have used? It wouldn't be too hard.

Also, with the topic copying, it's not too hard to give credit there, either. You could possibly put a link at the bottom of the post directing to the original post on cspacezone.com, and put the member who originally created the topic's name there. Also, some of the images you're using (as in the buttons below avatars [smod/gmod/etc]) were also made by Cspace directly, and you should probably ask permission to use them first, if you haven't already..

Just a few suggestions, I'm not angry, but you still really need to give credit where it's needed =\

From what I can see, the things he copied are the paragraphs describing the forums, some images, and some topics. A lot of forum owners use the same forum headings (insanity board/general discussion/etc).

Although it is totally up to Cspace, I really don't think it's *that* big of a deal as long as he gives credit, honestly =\

I'm not sure about the emoticons, since they can be widely used, and were not made by Cspace (correct me if I'm wrong, of course).

All I can say is that I'd suggest that the people at Icarus Zone work on their own things. It doesn't matter if we care or not, but why make the same things when one has already been fully-developed. You don't gain anything except control.. and these are forums, where people go to interact with others, not control how they do it. :\

I just thought the forum names were being used, but it seems that more was added since I last looked. The group icons were made by me (they aren't used anywhere else unless someone copied them from us), and many of the posts were written by our members. I would appreciate it if the group icons were removed. When it comes to the posts, either format every single one as a quotation with a link to the original thread at the bottom of each (the original thread being on these forums), or please remove them altogether.

The forum names are one thing, but our members' work is being transferred to your site with no credit given and that is technically plagiarism. I realize that you (Icarus) may not have known this initially, but you do now, and I hope for you to do something to fix it.
