Update: The date will be somewhere around the end of November and the beginning of December. The significance is the establishment of SeeD during that period of 2001.

Requesting feedback with regards to a SeeD in-game holiday of sorts. Events, contests, and pretty much anything else along those lines is fair game.

I'm thinking that it would involve a week of stuff, so the chances of schedule issues would be slim. One day at either the beginning or the end of the week would be "SeeD Day" (or whatever name is chosen), and would be the day for a retro-ish Runescape party. Other events can be scheduled throughout the week, including spontaneous events and chat gatherings. This schedule layout can change if needed.

I am thinking that "SeeD Day" would be centered around a retro event of some sort in Runescape. I am also thinking that we could have a screenshot contest with festive screenshots relating to SeeD (fireworks, dancing, or whatever else pertains to the games you play).

But what do you think? Have event suggestions, or perhaps remember old events that you'd like to see happen again? Have ideas for contests? Maybe something along lines that I haven't mentioned?

If it's gonna be a week-long event, why not set aside a theme for each day. Day 1 will be runescape, then arcade games, guild wars, wow, maplestory, chat, contests, etc. I'd be glad to help with anything.

As I see it the main problem with having a theme each day is that we'd lose some of the versatility of a week-long celebration. If all the GW stuff is on one day and a bunch of people that are only really interested in DoA events can't be on that day, they miss out.

I agree we should try to hold events not relating to an online game, though. SeeD Chat could be a good one, as could some Arcade tournaments. Maybe some forum-based competitions, quizzes, etc. too. A lot of these things have the advantage that time zones won't get in the way of people participating. That's just a few things I can think of off the top of my head, feel free to post suggestions and ideas.

Well, I was thinking that instead of just having stuff in the chat or contests all week, we would do things in games as well. Since it's a week of stuff, it's possible for things to be done in as many games as members desire.

The contest I was thinking of would be an incentive to do SeeDish things in more games than just Runescape, and could spark some interaction and promotion elsewhere.

The Runescape event I was thinking of would be geared like older events and wouldn't require activity in the game to be a part (won't be anything serious). Almost everyone here has a Runescape account, and since it would be a SeeD holiday of sorts, we may as well do something that pertains to from where we came. Remember that the one proposing this Runescape event is not an active Runescape player either.

As for the chat, we should definitely do something there. I'm just not sure that we would want to focus on it all week though, for it would become monotonous unless Kimo can come every day.

A few have been bringing ideas to me regarding a SeeD holiday of sorts, and I was wondering what everyone thinks?

Here are the proposed dates for when stuff could happen:

SeeD Day: November 28th (when SeeD began)

SeeD Month From November 28th until December Somethingth... ?

If you cant get everyone to do something on one specific game each time. Let each person make one suggestion about what they should do. Afterwards let people make a vote or do something that they have access to. So if people that play counter strike want a seed event, they start a server that is available to all seeds. They post the server address and then any seeds that has counter strike, goes there. Then afterwards people post on the forum about how their event went. Another thing you could do is have chat in the beginning, to let everyone know that seed day officially began and then close it off with a major chat event. Possibly the fight of a chat bot or dumping paint on kimo. Pretty much, as far as the structure of things go, "Seed Day" needs to be available to everyone that is in seed. My point is that everyone should try something new and different. In turn meeting and talking with seeds that they havent met before.
