Oh, come on, yes, it IS expensive but who says you HAVE to pay? I mean, you can just trade the in-game currency for the other currency, (doubloons) that they make you pay for. So, you can play for free, except it'll cost in-game currency.
Besides, I don't play Puzzle Pirates much anymore, I'm either on forums or playing Graal Online.
