We now have a private IRC channel that can be accessed from both the website (Basic and Advanced) as well as RTB's in-game IRC feature. I strongly advise that if you are a member of the ECC, or if you just want to talk to us Blockheads, that you connect to it with the chat while online or check the channel while playing, so that the large majority of the faction who arn't connected to each other with IM programmes can really get involved.

How to connect from your browser

Simply open either Advanced Chat, Basic Chat or any other matrix-chat compatible applet you use, and type the command "/join #rtb".

How to connect from the RTB client

Go into your Blockland folder, then type after it in your address bar "rtb\client\ui\TgeLobby\tgelobby_vars.cs". Unless you've configured .cs files so that they always open it with notepad, you'll get a window asking you what to open it with. Click on "Choose the program from a list", then scroll down until you get to notepad. Open it with that. When the file opens, Ctrl + A, selected it all, and delete it. Then, copy the following in instead:

CODE
// =========================================================================
// TgeLobby for the Torque Game Engine
// Programmer:  Sean Pollock aka DarkRaven
// send email to sean@darkravenstudios.com
// This file is called to initialize certain variables and is a required file.
// Most everything can be configured here.
// =========================================================================

// Host and Port stuff
$TgeLobby::Host = "irc.matrix-chat.net"; // Host Address
$TgeLobby::Port = "6667";      // Port - Do not change

// Connection Messages goes here
$TgeLobby::ConnectMsg1 = "Connected!";
$TgeLobby::ConnectMsg2 = "Host Found...Connecting!";
$TgeLobby::ConnectMsg3 = "Connection Failed!";
$TgeLobby::ConnectMsg4 = "Could not find Server!";

// Special Flags
$TgeLobby::PERSON_IGNORE   = 4;
$TgeLobby::NOT_USED5       = 5;
$TgeLobby::NOT_USED6       = 6;
$TgeLobby::NOT_USED7       = 7;
$TgeLobby::NOT_USED8       = 8;

// Directories
$TgeLobby::Directory = "rtb/client/ui/TgeLobby"; // Change to what ever directory you want.
//$TgeLobby::ButtonsDir = "/buttons/";
$TgeLobby::ListsDir = "/lists/";

// Misc. stuff
$TgeLobby::Retry = 5; // Max # of connection retries
$TgeLobby::RetryCount = 1; // Leave this set to 1
$TgeLobby::PrvMsg = false; // Leave false
$TgeLobby::Channel = "#rtb"; // Default Channel
$TgeLobby::Version = "You have connected to SeeD's RTB IRC channel. Congorats for you.";  // Version info
$TgeLobby::Extension = "_rtb"; // This is appended to the end of a nickname when your are in game.
$TgeLobby::RandomSeed = 10000; // Used when figuring Guest_random#

Now, when you are playing the game (I don't think it works for the main menu or the loading screen), hit "I" and you will be connected to the channel. thumb.gif

Note: There are a couple of harmless bugs with this, as a result of the chat applets on the website being far more advanced than the feature in the game. Emotes and commands that work on the website applet do not work in-game, and the names may appear unusual on the applet. If there are any other issues, PM me.

These changes may not be final.

You also have to change it to #seedchat in:

rtb > client > prefs.cs

That is if we change it to seedchat, which we probably will. bluetongue.gif
