Seed Recruitment Ad, etc
#1

Just curious, since no apparent recruitment ad exists for SeeD, would anybody like to help me make one, although, i could make one myself. I've seen some posts a moment ago saying basicaly how Seed's activeness in runescape is at an "All-time low", or that, "our activeness in runescape is near 0", or, "Not many people show up to my events". Now, on paper (registered members), SeeD has in excess of 3000-4000+ people. Most likely, less then half of those people are active in SeeD itself as a whole or community, or, less then half of them are active in Runescape. A Recruitment Ad will defidently bring in new recruits, new fresh ideas, allow SeeD to grow again, and become an even more prosperous clan in a new Golden Age. Hell, i myself havent been active since february of 06. So, howbout it, is anyone interested in aiding me in a Recruitment Ad campaign.
~~
Secondly, i truly think that every single one of these so called, "Seedlings" or "seeds" are multi-clanners, i myself am one, i lead a clan called the Dark Order (i'm thinking of asking Seed to allow it to become a sub-clan within SeeD, or fully absorbed into SeeD). This, is an extremely huge problem that most likely is plagueing the SeeD clan. How do you overcome the problem? The Answer to this question is, have a roll-call, see who is actually in SeeD and not in other clans. Make all those who are multi-clanning as either Clan-Friends, Clan-Allies, or delete them for being a suspected spy, which, plagues every single great clan, though weeding out spies is extremely difficult, especialy when your as big as SeeD. I suggest the leaders of SeeD create and enforce a new Rule, along with an updated list of rules, that will require all future members to essentialy, swear loyalty to SeeD, an oath that will only be broken when they leave or are found guilty of treason. This will help maintain an active-loyal member-base for SeeD. Furthermore, with the addition of more members, SeeD will be able to host more events, bigger events, and more succesful events which we can take screenshots, and use for propoganda purposes for recruiting.
~~
Thirdly, whilst i know that SeeD has a long-standing tradition of no-level requirements, i feel that this long-standing tradition is hurting SeeD. Such traditions are old, ancient, stone-age in the world of runescape-clans, or any clan for that matter in any relatively old but still-existing MMORPG. Players nowdays with levels, WANT a clan that can support them, and help them, the clans for low-levels are by-gone days, the clans of near-high level to high level, warring, pking, skilling and other fun events are the Now, its been this way for over a year or more. This parapraphical suggestion might be rejected, but, regardless of its fate, it must be addressed. I propose, a radical change to SeeD's traditional ways, if its members truly seek to make SeeD active again in runescape, and possibly other games that its in. We need Level Requirements. We need a Junior clan or 2, and even an Auxillery Legion. Below is my complete proposal for the neccesary changes:
1.I propose SeeD have 90+ requirements for its runescape faction, or 85+ magic with 75 or 80 combat, same with range.
2.I propose SeeD creates a Junior clan for 70-89 combat, (runescape faction)
3.My last key proposal is to establish an Auxillery Legion(s). The Auxillery Legions are for those who do not meet the junior or mother-clan's requirements, but, have non-combat skills that can be put to use for the Clan, to make money for the clan, and helping to operate Clan Businesses, (described below). The Auxillery's would be useful for making sure the Clan has a continuous supply of resources and food for when we need it. (runescape faction)
~~
Now then, on to the Business Aspect of the possible new SeeD (new as in, revamped, reformed, and revolutionized).
I think it would be good if the Clan began operating Clan Businesses, everything from Mining, to smithing, Carpentry, smelting, fletching, rcing, etc. This is where the Auxillery's come in. Essentially, the Auxillery's would serve as Employee's, workers and get paid a certain percentage from things that are sold by the Corporate Managers and Executives. The Corporate Managers would be comprised of members from the Junior Clan, and Executives from the Mother-Clan. Think of the Food Pyramid in the Clan Business Structure, or a Ladder to be more precise, a Hierarchy. Everyone in the Business would get paid a certain percentage of money after all collected resources are Refined, Manufactured and Produced (sold). But, a large sum of profits would be given to a clan bank, controlled by a SeeD leader. The money that is collected and stored in the Clan Bank will be used for certain Clan Events, helping members out, Loans, Grants, and other clan-beneficial things.
Also, the Auxillery's would serve as Scouts in wars and pk trips too.

So, what does everyone think? Like my ideas? Hate em? support em?

I can tell you right now, doubt this will be implemented.
But anyway, I don't like the idea. I for one would have to sit leveling in a game i don't play anymore just to
be able to do things with other members and it would discourage more people then encouraging them to join
and not to mention UFF would probably find out and start trying to convert us back.

Its good to see someone so interested in helping SeeD back up.
A while ago we had a mission to accomplish. In this mission we decided to create a new recruitment thread. The mission was eventually abandoned and I, myself am still not sure what our next step is.
Your first proposal..well I'm pretty much sure we shall never go to requirements. And if we do, then a lot of SeeDs won't be able to stay in the main clan (90+). I myself will only just be able to be in the junior clan.
Also, if you look deep into the Runescape Faction forum you shall find the Galbadian Legion. There are already three parts of the Legion so all members can be part of it. Heck it may be inactive, but I plan on helping to bring it back.
The business proposal seems a little complicated to me. We need to keep it simple in order for all members to understand. If its too complicated a lot of SeeDs won't bother
Back when SeeD was more active, there were a lot of businesses around such as smithing services and rune shops. With the arrival of more members through recruiting, hopefully we can bring those back too.

While Charlie and others have considered writing new or alternative recruitment threads, we already have one for the RS Faction here that can be used in the present. I'm not sure that many knew it's there, but I'd recommend that we get our guild behind our cause before getting our name out there again. I agree that recruiting should be the #1 priority, we should just work on our situation so we can accomodate new members.
----------------------------------------------------------------
As for the level requirements for SeeD itself, we won't have them in the foreseeable future. I fully understand and respect your reasons for them, but we've always tried not to conform. Almost every clan in existence right now has requirements, and many have junior clans among many other ideas borrowed from known clans. For those who want to be in a clan that is involved with the artificial rankings on sites like RSC, then by all means they can join such a clan. Many players don't necessarily want to be in a clan like that, and there aren't many clans to accomodate them. It may not be the majority of players, but it's still a lot of players.
We just come from a time when clans tried not to conform. Clans weren't divided between "PKing" and "Skill" clans, but were able to define themselves however they wanted. When RSC got popular and the rankings came up, all clans started to become essentially the same. We've been away from the inter-clan realm for a while and kept to ourselves, but we're working toward getting back out there in the near future. When we do, will we want to change to appeal to the same people 95% of clans are seeking, or continue to pave our own path?
I agree with your reasoning for having "junior" clans, but we've always intended for our RS Faction to feel unified. As such, ever since January of 2004 we've technically had two legions (one for low levels and one for high levels), both of which being separate from the clan itself. They need some serious updating, but they are merely divided in one area of the clan instead of the clan as a whole. This is further implied in that membership in either is entirely optional, so members don't feel elitist or lesser from the scope of the clan itself. They're currently in the "Galbadian Legion" forum.
----------------------------------------------------------------
As for the companies, they're always fun. Our members started their own shops a while back, although when we stopped recruiting they sort of disappeared. This is a prime example of our clan being member-led, in that any member can run something like this if they desire. It would probably be ideal for members to do something along these lines as our activity increases.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks a lot for the feedback, it's great to see the growing interest in our RS Faction again. I think it's about time for our members to start working out stuff like Better Alive, and when we find our calling we can pursue it as a guild. We can easily do it, we have the activity necessary but we just need to work together.

Awe-inspiring words. I'd like you to know that when I started the Mithril Dragons after being in SeeD and seeing their freedom I chose to model my clan after this one. I wanted to have a clan that is molded by its members and formed a strong comunity. I wanted complete freedom for my members.

I always thought SeeD found the whole weeding out member unnecessary, mainly because, we're not a PKing/War Clan, so there's nothing to keep hidden. Also as far as a requirement, I don't like it personally, because then it just excludes possible member, even more so with a 90+ requirement.
Glad you're putting these ideas in, but they don't seem to work with Seed, IMO anyways.

1. WHat's our situation and what can we do to help it?
2. Most lvl 70-90+ are already in clans or will only work on their own

Members just aren't working together even though they're active in the game. I think this is changing for the better, but it would be awesome for members to push for unity and a goal so we can get moving again.

Apparently you've not seen the highscores on many of our older members.

Hello everyone, my power just came back after a winter-storm here in the north-east USA knocked out 80,000+ peoples electricity for a day or 2 or more.
Now then, thanks for the replies and constructive criticism. And as such, i truly love SeeD's die-hard traditionalism in its founding beliefs. I promise that i'll try my best to become active in SeeD, and i'll host a ton of events on my main.
