Anyone else try it? For (I think) ten more days anyone can have free access to the game, for what that's worth. bluetongue.gif

I tried it, and I think it's pretty good. Unless one is really into the books, though, I personally feel that better games are out there. LotRO sort of feels like a mix between Vanguard and WoW with an average combat system, but it does seem to follow the books fairly well.

Feel free to discuss it here. thumb.gif

I don't plan to get it when it's released, but you can't beat the price for trying it (free). bluetongue.gif

I was invited to it, but I'm too lazy to download and play it.

Applied a couple months ago, but wasn't invited.

Closed beta is better.

I'd rather read the recent publication...
I have trademarked the symbol: '™'. You fail at display names.

^ Thanks to Nazy for the... thingy ^

Things which you should look at:

SKoA - http://skoa.cspacezone.com/ , if you have any Age of Empires games.

The DS Garden Festival Minigame - Link , whether you play DStorm or not.

The Most Mysterious SSSS - Link For people who don't care about...things.

Like LEGO? Play Blockland!

I may be an Arbiter, but I'll always be a SeeDy little man.™™

At the moment, I'd say it's not particualry good to get into at this time, even though it's a free beta.

The reason? It's a free beta. You get all the WoW kids saying "This is just like WoW, it sucks!", "This isn't WoW-like enough, it sucks", "It's like WoW, but I wanted to play Gandalf. I can't play gandalf though, so I'll just name myself Randalf!" .... And such.

Apart from that, it's quite good. Not great, but if I had friends on there I'd play it. Once it comes time to pay for it, a lot of the freeloaders will quit and go back to.. Heh, I don't even need to finish that.

What I've usually found LotR games lacking is good graphics.. these don't see half-bad, though. What I found amusing about that site is that all of the people int he welcoming page look like they're over the age of 30. bluetongue.gif I think this is one of those games where I'll only play it if I starting hearing/seeing really good reviews about it. After having record-breaking movies and whatnot, LotR just deserves a super-amazing game.

I'll just ignore LOTRO and wait for Stargate Worlds to come out bluetongue.gif
