I've never had a strudel, though I imagine the apply-it-yourself icing is superior to the tasteless crap on poptarts. Poptarts are great for backpacking or disaster kits, as they keep at room temperature for a long time. Not sure if toaster strudels are the same. I'm not going to vote since I've never tried strudels. I certainly like poptarts, though.
Nope, toaster strudels are frozen and would get soggy if you tried to take them backpacking

. Probably could toast them on a fire though. . . . I don't think they'd spoil if you ate them by first breakfast out.
I prefer the strudels *seconds star's opinion on the icing*, but poptarts are easier, faster, a bit less expensive, and I'd imagine ever-so-slightly healthier (i.e. slightly less greasy). I've quit bothering to toast them, so having to toast the strudels twice would be a bit of a pain

(if you do it once too hot, you burn it outside, but at a normal temperature the middle is still anywhere from obviously cold to frozen). Cherry is the best flavor, followed by cinnamon (the bark kind, not my cat).
