Generally those that blindly insult Nintendo are those that haven't actually bothered to play any of the games, hehe.
And lets not let this topic degenerate into pointless insults like so many similar threads on other boards do, I think we're all mature enough to simply discuss the issue.
I'd actually heard the Ps3 was going to be considerably more powerful than the Xbox 360, although I think at this point it's important not to get too swept up in rumours. And as previously stated, I don't really care about the specs of the systems in any case. You can rest assured that all of the systems are going to be quite incredible graphically, I'm more interested in which has superior gameplay.
I'm quite willing to admit that the Gamecube suffered somewhat, but that wasn't through it being a bad system or anything of the like. It just didn't get the third-party support it needed, so most of the good games were Nintendo-exclusive ones. The Ps2 and Xbox were considerably more interchangeable, with games being released on both of them and the PC as well. That doesn't make one system 'better' or 'worse', it's just a matter of quantity vs exclusivity.
And yes, Smash Brothers games are awesome. But there are plenty of other good games too. If you're a halo fan, try to get your hands on Metroid Prime or Metroid Prime 2. If you like RPGs, try Tales of Symphonia. There are plenty of others, but I'm too lazy to try and think up which games to suggest right now.
