okay AcTualY there were about 20,000 people in pompeii, however most all of them escaped and only a few hundred remains have been discoverd(with the site fully excivated).
that is less then just the trade towers.
scientists predict that the earth will see it doomed by the sun expanding yes but it wont die becuase the ozone layer collaspes...the earth renews its self and relatively often. it is more likely that we will all be gone or would have wised up before that kind of damage occurs.scientists do say that our ionisphere will be essentialy blown away and that will allow the emence radiation of the sun to cook us.
In the middle ages (post roman gothic transition), only a few hundred years after the time of jesus you were 20 times more likely to die...but not from natural disaster. it was from a violent death you would most likely meet your end.
back then people did not die more vrs. their population from natural disasters...we knew less so we were more suspicious of the slightest things...now we pretty much think we can controll it all or stick out what ever comes so we hang around.
and the bible says about the anti-christ that he is an advocate of the beast, a possed man if you will. it also says he will come from the east(this could be any where from slovic to asian countries), and that he will make a false world wide peace...that he will rebuyuild the temple and bring peace to the middle east but that it wont last...im not sure what facts are being miss-construde here but there obviously(to any one who actualy researches what they are talking about so that they have an informed opinion)are alot here.
peoeple seem to just be saying what ever crosses there mind before even checking the facts lol.

Did you even read anything there? or did you just skim? is it that you had nothing good to say here so you bring that in? you must be very clever to use something(arguable) from a topic completely un-related to the discution at hand to avoid making a valid point hmm?
...If a million people have a stupid idea, it is still a stupid idea.
There was only one instance where someone in that topic provided any valid argument for that really bad stand point. I backed down enough from my stand point for it to be left alone. there is a difference of opinion there and I do not want to deal with it any more becuase every there was just telling me what the last person said and it was mind numing to listen to all that re-idderation without anything new or valid being introduced.
I tried to let it go! I stoped posting with out even trying to get the very last word in on it or anything like that! and you bring it to me in another topic?!? how bored are you?
I make valid points and can back them up unlike most who just say things...Iknew alot of this stuff in this topic was way off base. I went and I looked it up! I actualy have an informed opinion where all you have is a quick shot below the belt.

I will comment on one of your opinions though. People back then died more often from natural causes and of course their environment, more so than violent deaths. The average life expectancy was of course much lower, but most deaths were because of natural causes.

I was thinking about this the other day...how all these natural disasters and wars have been going on recently. If you look at it one way, it can be taken as a sign that something is about to happen, depending on your religion (if you have one). But like people said, wars and natural disasters have been happening for years. World Wars I and II caused millions of people to die, and disasters were going on then. We just didn't have the type of communication we have today.
And someone mentioned this, can't remember who...they said alot of things were happening to the US...well, we've suffered a terrorist attack and two hurricanes...but to me, that isn't really alot. Asia has been hit by a tsunami, and many countries are being hit by earthquakes. And although the hurricane and the attack did alot of damage, they are just two..
Anyways, that's all I'm gonna say for now.

I am referring to the bit in Revelation, the apocolyptic bit. I will go and quote it sometime, but I can't be bothered now.

...when I said that more people died from violence then natural disaster...well, it was not an opinion. I was stating a fact based on evidence. give me a while if you like and i'll go get the links(rite this moment I am wasted from being up since 5 am painting facia, and under eves)
oh, and the thing in revelations. It is chapter 13, verses 1-5 ...that is representitive of lucifer. there is also a second beast that exersises his power in revelations chapter 13, verses 11-15....those are the descriptions of what they look like and their attitudes.
no need to go digging for it lol...I was raised a bible thumper. I can't believe I still rember this stuff.
at any rate if you want the description of a dragon as an animal go to job chapter 40-41.
although while one is definately describing a dragon in that place in the bible (refered to as a leviathan) the other may describe something like a dinosuar(refered to as a bohemoth).
the beast of revelations is not a dragon...its says specificaly that the dragon gives him his power, and of the second beast that he speaks like a dragon. but both are described as pretty messed up animals lol. the thing is dragons were not always called dragons the church associated dragons(the mythilogical animal) with biblical satan to put down people who participated in tournies. as they often boasted of killing them, dwelling with them, or wrestling them and often had the animal on their emblems, it was easy for the church to associate them with the devil. at one point the church even denied tourney contestants holy burial rites.
In the writings purest form...the beasts have dragon like powers but are not dragons.

And all of you who think that is just another religion are ignorant and foolish.
yet, you're giving Christianity the same kind of consideration (or lack thereof, rather) that you criticize others for giving Buddhism.
And all of you who think that is just another religion are ignorant and foolish.
Aww, Snowy! I'm athiest too, but I don't put down other peoples' religions. That actually makes some interesting points. Thanks for posting it Dave

(I have to admit, I dislike Christianity, but only because its trying to destroy other religions by force. Some charities to help children and stuff are Christian, and once they give the kids food, they teach them about Christ. I think thats wrong...lol)
yeah, its so wrong that these Christian programs feed starving children and teach them about Christianity and its beliefs - which, by the way, the children are in no way forced to accept. i mean, if i were a starving kid, i'd rather be left alone to my hunger than have some meddling Christians offer me food and teach me about their religion.
and who are you to argue that it's wrong for these Christians to spread their beliefs, if they save lives in the process? besides, those Christians believe that they're doing a good thing by spreading their beliefs; in the Christian religion, all those who are unsaved go to hell. so, whether you believe that or not, you can't denounce the Christians' intentions in spreading their beliefs (at least nowadays, that is), and neither can you condemn the way in which they spread those beliefs - can you provide food to starving children worldwide? unless you're the president of the Red Cross or some similar charitable and influential organization, you don't have the right to criticize those Christians for what they're doing. why? because they're feeding more starving children and consequently saving more lives than you ever can.
the crowed picked Barrabas not because he was a military leader but because they wanted to see Jesus of Nazareth killed.
and many of you are taking Revelations too literally. that book speaks in metaphors, and that's why it's so hard to interpret. scholars cant even agree on what kind of time period the book of Revelations is describing - past, present, or future. it's futile to try to get any truth out of interpreting it ourselves, although it might lead to some interesting speculation.

The Bible says that war, famine, earthquakes etc. are the little signs of something bigger coming. The thing i think we're all going on about is the fact that there seems to be more and more disasters happening in the world.
No one knows when Jesus will return but we do know that when the whole world has had an oppurtunity to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour then Jesus can come back, hence for the fact of Missionaries etc. Over the holidays my dad went to India and saw thousands of people 'saved', these people were desperate and looking for a better way of life, why deny them that by teaching them about Jesus?
The people can now look forward to a better future as they are apart of a different life and are looked after. Your probably gonna ask, "what makes you think they will have a better life?" well, if you see the people before and then see the people after, then you will know what I'm tlaking about. I don't know if any of you have been to any third world countries, but I have, and I traveled across the world with my parents when they were missionaries, i can definitly tell you that people are changed for the better.
And for Jesus being assasinated, not possible (he's immortal and God so yeah). The bible says the whole world will see him when he comes, and there will be many events before Jesus returns, for starters the ending of the antichrist, and no the anitchrist won't be some bull with horns and an evil sceptre or whateva.
Lucifer (Satan/devil) is the deciever, so you won't be able to know if the person is the antichrist, like when Jesus came down to Earth, he was in human form, why would Satan be any differnet, specially if he wants to fool as many people as possible and drag them into hell with him.
But before you guys say anything about something like this, could you first know what on earth u are talking about

"I will run... [I will run into your presence]... into your presence,
I will sing.. [I will sing of your love]... Sing Forever,
and I will run.. [I will run to your presence]... into your presence,
I will sing.. [I will sing for your love].. Sing Forever.
Evermore, [I will sing for-]
Evermore [-evermore]
Evermore [I will sing for-]
Evermore [-evermore].."

I believe in my heart, that he will come back to Us, to Return, when the day is come, Be sure to look out and be ready, those who believed in him."
So let it be!
For God so love the world,
he give his one and only son,
to die in the cross for our sins,
those who truly believe in him shall now perish,
but, have an everlasting Life."
keep in mind*
those who believe in him."
and I heard that there going to be holy war or something like that,
its says that the Iraq people are planning to go work with the russian people trying to built a Nuclear bomb, they planning to use it against Israel to blow out the Nuclear power plant in Israel, once it hit, it can wipe out Europe, United Kingdom and also New York as well...
but, the bible says that,
On that day,
Jesus will come back and stop before its happens, I would believe." that what I've heard."
